What is a Foster Home?
A foster home is a short-term safe haven for a rescued dog. It is the most crucial yet scarce ingredient in canine rescue. The more available foster homes, the more dogs we are able to rescue. For the dogs in animal control facilities, a shortage of space means death.
Briefly, the responsibilities of doggie foster care are as follows: A foster companion must provide a safe, secure, stable environment, and, most importantly, the love needed to nurture those dogs back to their happy, healthy selves. Some dogs require special care, such as post medical attention, increasing weight or strength, socializing, building trust, exercise, and fun. Some dogs just require you. (Learn more about fostering responsibilities.)
Bill Foundation handles all of the logistics of placing the dogs. We are also happy to cover all expenses for food or any necessary medical care.
Our rescued dogs are immediately placed in foster homes if possible after being cleared by our veterinarians. With foster homes, each dog is provided a nurturing home environment that includes food, shelter, exercise, and, most importantly, love. These animals come to understand that the safest place in the world is in the arms of their caretakers. Once the dog is ready, she or he is adopted into a thoroughly screened, caring, and permanent home.
