Out of Area Adoptions

Bill Foundation will consider an out of area adoption for some dogs. Before filling out an application please send an inquiry to billfoundation@billfoundation.org. The following is our criteria for a long distance adoption:

  1. As with any prospective adoption, we ask you to first fill out the Adoption Application.
  2. For serious applications, we would ask a local rescue group, or previous adopter to make a home visit on our behalf prior to your visit to meet the dog.
  3. In order for the adoption to be granted, the applicant must then come to Los Angeles to meet the dog.
  4. If all parties decide to proceed, the adopter would be able to take the dog home with them. It is the responsibility of the adopter to make all appropriate travel arrangements.

          We do not fly dogs
         unaccompanied.

Please note: We must give priority to local applicants for obvious reasons. Adopting out of the area can be a frustrating process and take longer than local placements.

Bill Foundation has had several successful placements in the Western U.S. Some of our dogs have relocated to Washington, Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico. Many now reside in San Diego and San Francisco.

If you have an excellent home to offer, are willing and able to travel, if you understand what we do and why we must be so careful, and if you are committed to the process, we will try and work with you.
