Dog Food: high quality dry kibble: Most BF volunteers feed their own animals from the following:
Canidae, Nutro, Natural Balance - normal stomach
Nature’s Recipe, Science Diet, Canidae - nervous stomach
Innova, Wellness - hard stool
Wet food: a small amount of high quality canned food (see list above) may be added, or ideally a little chicken and chopped vegetable such as carrots and broccoli.
Treats: stick to bland small biscuits without preservatives and added dyes.
Bowls for Food and Water: you may want to have 2 water bowls, 1 for inside, the other outside. Stainless steel recommended!
Comb & Brush: for long hair dogs
Dog Bed: Beds with the zip-off washable covers are best. Be sure to launder regularly.
Flea Treatment: Two very good ones are: Frontline, good for fleas and ticks, or Advantage, fleas only. No flea collars
Toys: Many dogs love balls, most like soft fleece toys --- the one that are natural color fleece can be washed and bleached. Brightly colored fabric toys that are dyed may be unhealthful.
Nutritional supplements: like “Fresh Factor”, see BF web site, or “Missing Link” can be very helpful for dogs with dry itchy skin.
Nature’s Miracle and Pet Force: are specially formulated cleansers to remove the odor of urine, vomit or feces.
