On December 10th, the Bill Foundation hosted its annual major fundraiser at Guy's in Beverly Hills. Hosted by Danna & Ed Ruscha, the event centered around an art auction for pieces by some of America's premier artists. Special guest hosts Jonathan Silverman ("The Single Guy"), Patrika Darbo ("Days of Our Lives") and Chantal Westerman ("A Second Look") were on hand to keep the evening moving with a live auction that included an in-home concert by Los Angeles First Violin and Principal Concertmaster, Martin Challfour; a get-away weekend to the Four Seasons in San Francisco complete with "Lion King" theater tickets; and courtside tickets to a Clipper's home game.  There were also some very cool silent auction items and a special booth featuring the "Your Pet" merchandise which benefits the Bill Foundation.

Our two lovely check-in volunteers, Melyssa and Gia greeted guests at the door.  A very special Bill Foundation ambassador also welcomed arriving guests - one of our fosters, Nathan, the Daschund.

The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while guests mingled and plotted bidding strategies for their favorite pieces.  Over 300 supporters came out for the special event. The featured artists that evening included Joe Andoe, Billy Bengtson, Diane Buckler, Susan Coe, Rose-Lynn Fisher, Steve Galloway, Art Gray, John Michael Hull, John Jakle, Karlton Johnson, Tom Knetchel, Luc Leestemaker, Robin Palanker, Renee Petropoulos, Gordon Pollack, Matt Rinard, Gabe Rivera, Kenny Scharf and Patssi Valdez.  All pieces were on display in the main room while silent auction items were in the rear banquet tented area. Figi Water, Hamptons Vodka and Click Wine Group sponsored the evening. Bill Cavanaugh was our  event planner -- thanks Bill for everything!a

Excitement built as the live auction drew near.  A heartfelt and touching welcome to the auction was given by Chantal, but as soon as Jonathan and Patrika hit the stage it was laughs all the way. The in-home concert was up first and drew some very hot bidding including an anonymous phone bidder (who we suspect was a major Hollywood celeb).  The weekend package and Clipper's tix also caused quite a stir.  Then in a surprise move, Chantal auctioned her exquisite gem necklace she had worn that evening to the event. Thank you so much Chantal for this unexpected generosity.s

The evening wound down with the results of the silent auction.  Many went home elated having won the items of their choice, others were not so lucky,
but all went home knowing they had helped a
worthy cause - and everyone felt good about that.

Thank you to all who supported the event by attending, to all our volunteers that made the evening a success and to our sponsors who made the evening possible.
