A Night of TBF Bingo-mania!
The Bill Foundation was back at Du Par's for another mini fundraiser
with Belle Aire and Bingo Boy of Legendary Bingo. Held every Thursday night at Du Par's in West Hollywood, Legendary Bingo has
become a favorite venue for TBF. Over the past couple of years, TBF had joined forces with Legendary Bingo to raise the much needed funds to continue their work in dog rescue. The Du Par's lobby was all a-glow for the
evening's festivities. Guests were greeted in the entry way by TBF volunteers. There were colorful posters featuring the work TBF has accomplished over the past year, and one
giant poster featured the pics and bios of all the dogs who were looking for a new home. There were also volunteers to answer questions about TBF and any of the adoptable dogs. Sadly, no dogs were actually allowed to attend the event.
This time our guest ball caller was none other than Saturday Night Live
star and stand-up comedian, Ellen Kleghorn. What a night! The evening was full of laughs and fun as Belle Aire and
Ellen "stole" the show. The two played to a packed house of Bill Foundation supporters and Kleghorn fans who had gathered to raise money for this worthy cause.
Du Par's hospitality was in full swing as bingo players ate a
hearty meal to stock up on energy for the fierce competition ahead. Lots of fun and camaraderie preceded the games, but once the first ball was called everyone got down to serious
business.

Some of the more avid players actually were using 2-3 cards simultaneously - we recommend that only for the seasoned professional and not bingo virgins. There was a brief moment of panic as there seemed
to be a shortage of cheat sheets, but the players agreed to share to honor the sport of the game.
Sony, Dreamworks, Disney and Warner Bros.
were among the contributors who came through with great prizes for the games. But that wasn't all - that evening TBF ran a special silent auction including
personal electronics, a relaxing day-spa home basket, a wonderful morning tea set and a fantastic DVD basket full of first run movies. But there was more, TBF also auctioned beautiful designer jewelry some of which were especially designed for the event.
As always, the evening was full of bingo fun as winners braved the gauntlet of
flying bingo cards, faced one another in tie breaking standoffs and came to terms with the inevitable bingo paddle for the less than perfect player. Everyone was in the spirit of the evening, especially the self-proclaimed Bishop of Bingo,
Josh, who sported his handcrafted B-o-B Hat. Can't be a more devoted Bingo fan than that! When asked what inspired the creation of the infamous hat, Josh
told TBF "I had to do something special for such a special night." The hat must have also brought luck to the Bishop's group, that
evening his guest was one of the big prize winners. Although, sadly, luck didn't hold out for the Bishop himself and he found himself on
the receiving end of the dreaded Bingo Bad Boy paddle.
TBF supporters went home with some very fun prizes that evening.
Alphaville had donated the action figures from the hit movie, The Scorpion King. Though these action figures had not even been released to the public yet, TBF had 'em. Way to score. There was a Day of Beauty bag, complete with a 90 minute
European facial. All ten "themed" bags and a very special game treasure chest chock full of Garadelli Chocolates were given out. There was also the "Guess the Number of
Dog Biscuits in the Jar" game with a bottle of Dom Perignon as the prize. A popular game, the Biscuit Guess helped to raise extra funds at a $1-a-guess. But it was the grand prize game that had its own special story. It seems that The Grand Prize
winner that evening, Scott, had attended every single TBF Legendary Bingo event since 2001 and had never won a single prize. Way to make up for lost time, Scott.
Thanks to everyone who supported the evening and helped raise over $2,000. Thanks to Ellen for
her support and zany humor.
And as always, a very special thank you to Bingo Boy and Belle Aire. See you again soon.
