Bringing Home a new Dog during the
Holidays
With the holidays fast approaching, we wish to thank everyone who has helped us over the past year by volunteering their time, participating in our fundraisers and
to those who adopted a Bill Foundation dog. Here are two important things to remember this holiday season: while your pet may be a cherished member of your
family who you wish to include in all family activities, they may not always understand the excitement going on around them.
- Make sure they have an I.D. tag should they accidentally become lost during all the holiday activities.
- If you have decided to adopt a dog this Christmas please remember that a dog is not a toy or a surprise gift. This is a decision best made by the whole family.
- Give your new dog plenty of time to acclimate to their new environment, and make sure the younger members of the family
understand that a puppy or grown dog is a living creature and not a toy.
Your dog wants to spend the holidays with you and with a little common sense it can be a merry one for all. |
