A Home for Frankie
When rescuing dogs we often come across more mature dogs who have been unceremoniously dumped by their families at the city shelter. The reasons vary, too costly,
moving, or a death in the family. Such was the case of a very special Pug named Frankie. This spritely little character in no way acted his age. Energetic, inquisitive
and all things Pug, Bill Foundation had to find this very special guy a home.
Jo, Bill Foundation
director, fostered him herself. She told us his three favorite things were eating, napping and just being by her side. She described
him as a mellow fellow who took everything in stride. He loved to ride in the car, be carried and, of course, get good long tummy rubs - what Pug could turn down a tummy rub?. He was simply a
joy to be around.
Little did we know when rescuing him from a certain demise at the shelter that the Velcer family would be waiting for just such a dog. The Velcer's already had a senior Pug, Matilda, and were
looking for a companion that would fit not only into their family but would make a good brother for her as well. Frankie seemed to fit the bill and the adoption was on.
We recently heard form the Velcer's after a family camping trip. Dad tells us "Frankie is a real sweetie. We have been having a great time with him. As you will see
from our camping photos, he fits right in like he's been with us forever!"
Here are some of Frankie's vacation photos. Enjoy!
