Girl Scout to the Rescue!

Everyone has been affected by this season's rainy weather. Bill Foundation has had its share of rainy day problems, even canceling a couple of the dog fairs as a result. No one knows the consequences of this rain better than one of our volunteers, Noreen. Noreen is the person who washes and changes out the bedding just about everyday for our rescues at the kennel in Burbank.

It wasn't long before Sabrina, animal lover and Junior Girl Scout, came to the rescue. Sabrina was in the process of earning her Bronze Award. This award is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn.  When she heard about Bill Foundation and the situation at the kennels, she took on the project. In order to earn the Bronze Award, it is required by Girl Scout guidelines to plan and execute a project that will have a positive impact on the community. She felt this project would fill those requirements and also the passion she felt for animal's well being.  She contacted Noreen and proposed her idea.  Noreen was thrilled, "As the person who washes and changes out the bedding just about every day, I am really glad to have all the towels especially with this rain."

Sabrina recently visited the Pet Adoption Day at Centinela Feed to meet some of the dogs who benefited from this Bronze Award winning Junior Girl Scout.
