This year's fundraiser was held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.  Hailed as one of Ellen's favorite cherities, she personally chose Bill Foundation to be honored at the opening night gala.  A 16 year Los Angeles tradition, the event quickly sold out to designers, officianados and friends of Bill Foundation . The opening night ticket included fine food passed on trays, cocktails, music by Comboluxe and a look at some of the finest pieces of Modernism from around the world.

Especially for the event, Bill Foundation brought in two of its rescues to meet and greet the incoming guests as they entered the auditorium. Ginny, a beautiful Pekenese and Dolce, a lovely long hair Chihuahua were chosen.  Both of the dogs are fairly new rescues and this is their first event. They were chosen because of their lay-back personalities and small size.  "We had to choose dogs who could be carried the entire night.  Part of our deal with the show and exhibtors, who allowed the dogs to attend, was that there be no chance of an accident", explains Karen, "The furniture, jewelry and clothing featured at the show are very expensive and we need to respect the vendors as well as the guests."

After their meet and greet duties were over, the dogs moved inside to mingle with the guests.  Several of our volunteers took turns escorting the dogs throughout the auditorium.

Produced by Off the Wall Promotions, the event was an evening filled with spectacular, museum quality objects of the 20th Century exhibited by 85 dealers from around the world. Thank you, Ellen for making us part of this very special night.
