Jami & a dog named Schmoo

My name is Jami Epstein and about two years ago I adopted an amazing 5 pound puppy from the Bill Foundation.  That little baby estimated to be 15 pounds has now grown to be about 40, but he is the best dog anyone could every have.  We named him Dominic Shmoo, keeping his original name in honor of Daniel who cared for him until we took him in and we now call him Schmoo.  Schmoo as well as the other two adoptees we have made such an impact on me, that I decided I needed to help other dogs too.

I have everything in my life that I need to be happy, but a lot of these dogs don't. The people who work at the Bill Foundation put all of their heart and soul into reviving, caring and finding great homes for these dogs, but they can't do it alone.

Donations are a key factor in caring for these dogs, with the tons of food they eat, the toys they play with, the bones they gnaw on, and the many bottles of carpet cleaner and Febreze they use to clean up after the little buggers.   I realized this and I wanted to help raise money, so for my fourteenth birthday I had my friends bring donations for the Bill Foundation instead of presents. That year I raised about $ 200.00.  It just wasn't enough though, I know every little bit counts, but in this case, more is better. For my fifteenth birthday, I rented out a skating rink and invited about fifty people.  I raised about $750.00 which I was so ecstatic about giving to the charity.  For my sweet sixteenth, I hope to get up to atleast $1000. Wish me luck!!!

The Bill Foundation is always looking for donations, and smaller teens like me to crawl into the back of the crates and clean up puppy pee when volunteering.  Help support the people and the dogs and give back to those who truly need it.
